I will conjure up a custom art party for you and your guests that will include arriving with my suitcase full to the brim with art supplies, providing my creative + gentle guidance through an immersive art experience, AND furnishing you with my atmospheric styling prowess.

YOU can concentrate on giving your guests a warm and heartfelt welcome into a space where they can flourish creatively without any inhibitions while you relax and focus on enjoying your event. Sun Spree Art Party

In this three hour Sun Spree Art Party with Miranda you and your guests will learn how to create cyanotypes on paper and fabric. Cyanotype (sun printing) is a historical photographic process. Miranda will explain a bit about this process and with her gentle and creative guidance we will create compositions using natural elements and everyday objects to make photographic prints in the sun. Participants will go home with at least three paper sun prints or one sun printed scarf. All materials included.

Mixed Media Memento Party

In this three hour Mixed Media Memento Art Party with Miranda you and your guests will learn how to create mixed media mementos on wood that can be shared as a gift or cherished as a memory. Miranda will guide you in the use of materials such as acrylic paint, watercolor paint, water soluble crayons, paper, fabric, and lots of mixed media resulting in a beautiful piece of art ready to display. We will focus on play and experimentation with colors, textures and layers. Participants will go home with at least three 4x 4” mixed media mementos on wood.

Watercolor Wanderlust Party

In this three hour Watercolor Wanderlust Party with Miranda you and your guests will learn how to create watercolor postcards. Miranda will guide you in painting with a variety of simple watercolor techniques that will inspire the compositions for your postcards. Together we will paint a large piece that can be divided to take home. Participants will go home with a set of postcards and a portion of our collaborative artwork.

Traveling Sketchbook Party

In this three hour Traveling Sketchbook Party with Miranda you and your guests will learn how to ground and develop a travel journal, or memo book. Miranda will gently guide you in making marks and creating abstract compositions with simple and impactful materials. We will discuss the types of materials that are great for travel and each guest will leave with their very own travel journal to take with them on all of their adventures!

Black Light Paint Party

In this three hour Black Light Paint Party we will make beautiful art together with acrylic paint under the glow of black light! Miranda will provide easy instructions for everyone to express themselves with vibrant, day glow paints on large sheets of mixed media paper to create abstract landscapes. We will also create a large collaborative piece for us to tear apart and take home as mementos. The Black Light Art Party is the perfect choice for an evening soiree since a dark room is the best setting. We can also make this happen during the day if that is what you want!

Collective Collage Party

In this three hour Collective Collage Party we will create a large scale, collective collage! Miranda will guide you in grounding a poster size collage that can be divided into smaller collages for everyone to take home at the end of the experience. We will experiment and play with hand painted papers, vintage ephemera, recycled materials, and paint. As we create, I will ensure that every attendee feels inspired and encouraged regardless of age or skill level. Making art together in a space without judgement challenges pre-conceived notions and inspires dialogue, cultivating understanding and compassion. This art party can be combined with postcards for people art party (see details below).

Postcards for People Party

in this three hour custom postcards for people art party we will decorate, embellish, and postmark at least 5 postcards each with collage and mixed Media materials. I will provide the postage. this is a wonderful way for community to gather and create art that we can share with the world. I created Postcard for the People art kits so folks can send handwritten messages to people about the things that they are passionate about. See the unintentional letter “P” theme happening? I decided to go with it! You see, my first thought was that these postcard kits would be used for advocating for Palestinians. But I realize even though there is a genocide happening in Gaza right now that needs our urgent attention, there are also a myriad of horrific events continuing and unfolding around the world that need attending to and that people are passionate about. Plus, sometimes it’s nice to send a little snail mail to the people we love! So I went with the letter p theme…find out more about postcards for people and purchase PFP art kits here. Everyday Expressive Arts Play Party

As an artist I am exploring the ways in which capitalism is at play in our daily lives, in history and in the future. Within the systems of capitalism art and art making has been known in the past to be only for the elite. I am here to continue, as many artists have, to break through that binary. In my work as a creative guide and visual artist I believe that art and art making are for everyone. Using items we might already have in our home, we can create unique pieces of art. And with a little imagination we don't have to spend a lot of also, money (or time!) on art supplies or have a huge studio. Making art together can be a way of connecting to each other, and connecting our minds back to our bodies, and connecting the earth…time to play…possibly with our food!

What will we do during art parties with Miranda?

• We will be experimenting playfully with color, texture, and shape to create one of a kind mementos. We will focus on the process and not the product. Each art party is about 3 hours long.

• We may use art materials such as watercolor paint, acrylic paint, paper, cyanotype, fabrics, textiles, pencils, pens, and even household items like coffee grounds or tinfoil.

• I will gently guide you through the creative process, ensuring that everyone feels inspired and encouraged regardless of age or skill level.

• Everyone will go home with their own unique art and memories of merriment and making art together!

• I invite us to immerse ourselves in a world of colors, shapes, textures, lighting, and sound!

What is the atmosphere like at an art party with Miranda?

Along with all art materials and creative guidance, I set the tone for belonging, ease, and comfort by way of atmospheric styling, a phrase I use to describe my unique process of preparing a space for an art party. I’m your atmospheric art witch!

I build welcoming  and festive atmospheres with elements such as textiles, fabrics, candelabras + candlesticks, artwork, ambient lighting, music and botanicals.

As I create, I think of what makes up an ambience that leaves a deeply fulfilling and lasting impression on guests. My meticulous attention to detail ensures that everyone feels like they are receiving a warm hug as well as a spark of inspiration when they step into the space.

I strive to source ethically made art supplies that embody a commitment to both creativity and conscience. As much as possible I search for and sample non-toxic pigments and recycled materials and I am a big believer in using “what we have” to make art. It is important to me that I buy art materials from companies where safe working conditions and fair wages for workers are prioritized, ensuring that the creation of art supplies uplifts communities and supports their livelihoods.
